Our second cottage

October 28, 2017

We successfully exchanged on the sale of our second holiday cottage today (November 10th), which is great news!

Stanegate Cottage is in the historic village of Fourstones, near Hexham, situated on the old Roman road ‘The Stanegate’, which pre-dates Hadrian’s Wall. The cottage is ideally placed for visiting Hadrian’s Wall Country and the surrounding area including Newcastle upon Tyne.

The cottage is a traditional, stone-built property on two floors and will sleep up to 5 guests in 2 bedrooms. It requires a full refurbishment to bring it up to VisitEngland’s 4* standard, which should be completed in February for bookings from March 2018 onwards – we will keep our website and Facebook pages updated with our progress. We have also started to build our web page for Stanegate Cottage, which you can find here.

We have one booking already, a family from Peterborough looking forward to their holiday in May!

Award-winning Northumberland

Northumberland won ‘Best UK Region for Families’ at the 2016 Family Traveller Awards and was awarded Silver for the ‘Best UK Holiday County/Destination’ at the British Travel Awards 2016. It also won Northumberland Coast ‘Holiday Destination of the Year’ and Embleton Bay ‘Beach of the Year’ in the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 2017.
