We turned right from the cottage and after a short walk along the footpath, turned left and then right into the countryside. The route took us through farmland and pretty woodland with good views of the village and Tyne Valley. The last bit of the walk took us under a railway bridge straight to the pub where we stopped for a drink before returning to Fourstones, this time taking the route alongside the River Tyne, perfect for our dog to have a swim.
It was a nice walk of about 2.5 miles in each direction, ideal for an afternoon or evening stroll. We will print and laminate the route for guests to use during their stay with us. It’s just 2 miles to drive to this pub too! The food is very good and they are dog-friendly.
